Gallery > Overhead Crane Removal

Limited headroom and the expense of removing portions of the roof made it impractical to use conventional cranes to remove several indoor overhead cranes from the inside of a large local assembly shop. Instead, TRENT's hydraulic lifting tower was brought in to lower the disassembled pieces from their from their locations near the roof of the building.

A new turntable was designed and built to rest on top of the main lifting beams, enabling the system to rotate the 100-foot long crane beams 90-degrees before lowering, so that they could safely clear their travel rails and slip between the lifting towers.
